Sadly, I did not meet Mark until a few years’ ago and then it was in the context of getting to know his wife, Anna, who has become a very valued friend. Reading about his life and, in particular, his academic career, I realise what a loss Mark’s untimely passing is not only to his wife, family and friends but also to the wider world. Parkinson’s is such a cruel disease. May you rest in peace, now, Mark.
